Research on 3D scanning of small and translucent objects using photographic techniques and our experimentations on Chios mastiha samples resulted in a traditional image processing approach on the analysis of translucent objects, which was presented in the IEEE International Conference Imaging Systems and Techniques (IST2014), Oct. 14-17, 2014, Santorini, Greece, as a specific case study under the name chios mastiha sorting research.
In addition, our extensive study on metadata schemas and international standards focused mainly on Europeana-based interoperability that is at the hearth of this project yielded another publication entitled Demystifying publishing to Europeana: A practical workflow for content providers, which is scheduled to be published at the Scientific Culture – International Journal of Applied Science and Technology to Cultural Issues.
